International Staff Week 2026: Higher Education and AI

SMK College of Applied Sciences invites academic and administrative staff to participate in the International Staff Week 2026 – “Already Changed, Still Changing: Higher Education and AI”, taking place in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 6 to 9 October 2026.

This year’s Staff Week will bring together professionals from European higher education institutions to exchange experiences and discuss how artificial intelligence is reshaping higher education and what challenges and opportunities it may bring in the future.

The programme will focus on:

  • institutional policies and ethical use of AI;
  • assessment and academic integrity in the age of generative AI;
  • development of AI competencies among academic staff, researchers and students;
  • application of AI in teaching, research and university administration;
  • opportunities for international partnerships and collaborative AI-related projects.

The programme will include lectures, experience-sharing sessions and the open event “AI-Ready Universities: From Ethics to Practice.” Participants are encouraged to share their own institutional practices, experiences and challenges.

A cultural programme will also offer participants the opportunity to discover Vilnius Old Town and the historic town of Trakai.

Participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses. Erasmus+ Staff Mobility funding or other mobility grants available through home institutions may be used.
